Dreams DO come true.
This week I had my first article published in the Huffington Post. When I received the acceptance email I started to cry.
The few days prior to my submitting the article I had seen three people I admire say their articles had gotten accepted and frankly it pissed me off.
Not because I wasn’t happy for them, but because I KNEW I had good content to share too.
So I stopped waiting for “someday” and I submitted my article. Four hours later the approval email appeared and it was a great feeling.
So now, I am officially a HuffPost contributor. How does it get any better?
One more thing off my bucket list and I cannot wait to see what else I can write for them.
In the article I share about simple life lessons that I learned while attending a Buddhist retreat with my man.
You can check out the article here.
It was a lesson in really believing in myself and not waiting for a “perfect moment” that never really exists.
A moment is whatever we make of it via @sweetpathgirl.
I was confident in the originality of the post so I took the leap and it paid off.
It was a vulnerable act but frankly the desire to succeed and to inspire others became greater than my fears.
And this is something that has been a recurring theme for me the last few weeks.
I have been getting very comfortable being UNcomfortable and each step has involved getting very vulnerable.
#1: I started a new Facebook group and reached personally inviting folks to join:
The Dream Life Community which you can join by clicking here.
#2: I have been writing blog posts for submission in different arenas with my points of view.
#3: I just completed a new mini ebook on sacred practices to activate your dream life (more on that coming later) and I have been driving out and about in San Diego meeting new people.
Every step of the way, I am exposing my beliefs and life experiences for people.
Every step of the way, I am making scary asks not knowing what the outcome will be.
Every step of the way I am meeting new people and staying open to being myself.
And while I have been incredibly uncomfortable, it has been yielding amazing results.
The reason: I am aligned with my message and I am committed to spreading it generously, powerfully and vulnerably.
The reward: I feel more connected, more seen and above all, more SUPPORTED.
Friends, colleagues and strangers have appeared to support me in all sorts of magical ways that have been nourishing and magical.
When we show up, the Universe shows up to support us.
So while I won’t lie to you and say that the last 3 weeks have been rosy, I have felt REALLY ALIVE, ON PURPOSE and ON FIRE.
It’s because I stopped hiding.
I have a deeper resonance and clarity around my message and that foundation is what anchors me to put myself out there every day and to spread my message.
And while at times I still fall into comparison traps, I also let the people that I admire, inspire and to encourage me instead of stopping me.
Here’s what I know to be true: if someone else can achieve a dream that you desire to achieve – YOU CAN TOO.
If you have the dream, the means to achieve it are possible too.
So where can you be a little more vulnerable in your life in the pursuit of your dreams?
